Amazon's New Jobs For An Expanding Business

As a large global tech company based in Seattle, Amazon has made plans to hire more than 50,000 new employees to assist in the task of preparing packages and shipments that are going to be sent across the U.S fulfillment network. Amazon is looking for full-time and part-time employees, 80% of which are designated for full-time roles with around 10,000 being part-time in the many Amazon station centers.

On the second of August, Amazon is set to host a day historical to the company in 10 of the fulfillment centers throughout the U.S. - their first “Amazon jobs day”. The intention of the "Amazon jobs day" is to help potential candidates receive more information about the many opportunities for jobs that are available within the company. Offers to fill some of the thousands of job openings will be made that day to those who apply.

The Amazon company regards that "Amazon jobs day" as their "Biggest even for hiring this year”. They are planning to fill positions in their many centers for the supporting and managerial roles, such as operational leaders, IT specialists, and human resources managers to name just a few.

According to Amazon, the full-time jobs will provide excellent benefits, like health insurance, disability insurance, competitive pay, retirement saving plan package and company stock to those applicants who are hired. Amazon also wants to have added by mid-2018 over 100,000 full-time jobs in the U.S., which would make the employees of the Amazon workforce, in just the U.S., tally over 280,000 people. It isn't just the amount warehouse employees that is being upped; the workforce of data science, customer service, and software engineering is also.

In April, Amazon had surpassed the number of 350,000 employees around the globe, a 43% increase of the amounts recorded the previous year. Amazon's hiring rate is higher than their main rivals, Microsoft and Google, ever since adding over 110,000 employees back in 2016.

Based on, and/or because of, their many advancements as well as the increasing number of new employees, Amazon seems to be diversifying and expanding the business to help better their efficiency in service delivery for their global existence.

The CFO of the Amazon company, Brian Olsavsky, has noted that the increase in employees is closely related to the high fulfillment activity that Amazon offers. The transportation logistics network has seen a large growth, expanding horsepower in units like Amazon Web Services, Alexa, and Echo. Amazon appears to be working to maintain their position as a top online global leader as they stay ahead of their competitors.

In 2016, the Greek Wire made an analysis of the company emplacement growth, and it was shown that there was not only a large growth in Amazon's headquarters of Seattle but in the Midwest and southern states as well.

As revealed by the Job Database Glassdoor report, by opening the numerous amounts of software development job opportunities that they have, Amazon has largely contributed to allowing Seattle to be recognized as one the single fastest growing cities in the U.S.

The report had also shown that retail of the U.S. has gained more in the past five years from software jobs than almost any other industry, and the increase in the retail seems to be linked to the amount of growth currently being done in the Amazon Company.
