This is a great program for people who have low income and are disabled. They can use the program to get safe and affordable housing. This program is offered through the United States Department of Urban Development and Housing. It is designed to help people find private residences. The funds for this program is offered to the local housing agencies across the country to give out to the people who live in the area. These Mercy Housing communities offer rental homes and apartments to eligible participants at affordable pricing. You will have to apply and get approved and accepted into the program. Eligibility is based on your age, income and disability. Additionally, the program also offers help with healthcare, financial planning and youth programs.

Grants For Children Of Disabled Single Mothers

Aside from housing options available to single mothers who are disabled, there are also many programs and grants that are available to their children as well. When a parent becomes disabled, one question that seems to arise is how their children's schooling will get paid for. Thankfully, there are many grants available to help children who have one or two disabled parents. Each grant program has different requirements in order to be eligible.

Paralyzed Veterans Of America

In order to qualify for a scholarship or grant from this program, each student needs to be under the age of 24 and unmarried. They must also be the dependent of a veteran that is paralyzed. This organization was founded in 1986 and has awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to all qualified participants. Their parents need to also be a member of the organization in order for their student to be qualified. Applications for the following year of school are always posted online in April.
